Everything went smoothly. From first contact to birth approximately 15 months total.
After birth, we met with the surrogate mother, since then constant contact with photos and video exchanges almost weekly … she visited us for 3 months with her own children and a close friendship was formed.
Every government office had understanding for the lack of necessary documents and birth certificates etc. because of the war outbreak … Despite the delays and repeated paperwork submissions, everything worked out well … including after almost 2 years the adoption and name change.
On 16.2. I held the child in my arms for the first time, in the delivery room, since then a close bond has formed and he is just as close to me as my biological older children …. There is no difference between my children ….
I wish all future parents a path of hope and mutual transparency, respect for the surrogate mother and her wishes and her well-being…. I am very grateful to the agency for an absolutely smooth process and accommodation in uncertainty when the war broke out despite their own problems …. We were never “left alone” ….
Cristiano is healthy and a very brave and strong boy …. He loves to play in nature (trees, forests, sticks, stones, gravel, earth, in the rain in puddles and mud, on the beach, he loves lakes or rivers or the sea)… he loves to travel, loves his nephews most of all (3, 5, 6, 8 yrs old), immediately connects with other children on playgrounds and shares his toys …. He is very very active.
